"Ideas from creativity, technical skills from experience and hard work from passion: these are the three key components required to make high quality entertainment software. But... "and the money?" someone could ask. Well, the money is the invisible glue keeping together that C-like expression and it only comes from satisfied customers.
That's how things work in this crazy, yet so fascinating, little wired world!"

Wishlist

Once you've got your Full version of Ecpc you'll surely have your own ideas and suggestions on how to improve it.
So help me making it better and send those suggestions to the address you find in the contacts page.
Here's a list of to do things I put together during the last testing phase of Ecpc and on which I'm already working on. You can also tell me which features among these you'd like to see completed first and I'll change their priority accordingly.

New languages

Do you want to see Ecpc translated into your language? Well, if you can help about that don't hesitate to contact me.
There's a Special Edition of Ecpc waiting for you and the users of the Viewer ( Unregistered ) version will be able to fully benefit from your hard work.
Please remember that the precedence goes to languages spoken in the countries of the European Monetary Union.
Here's the current list of the translations, their status and the name of the people taking care of them:

Almost completed!

I recommend using EmEditor to translate the language files of Ecpc, since it's a powerful text editor with full Unicode support and some great features such as a Multiple Document Interface to easily manage many opened files, keyword highlighting and some useful plug-ins. An efficient software with a clean and well designed user interface to say the least.
What's more EmEditor is free for Academic and Technical use, so feel free to request your registration key through the proper form on the website if you're eligible for such kind of use.
Yutaka Emura of Emurasoft confirmed me that my volunteer translators are eligible to get a registration key for free, thanks Yutaka!

Support for other platforms

Yes, I'm going to port Ecpc to other platforms.
Although it has been initially designed for PDAs, a version for Windows desktop PCs is in the works, while a version for PalmOS is becoming a concrete possibility.

More Coin Attributes

An additional field to store the condition of the coins is one of the most requested features, so I consider it a high priority task and will be included in the next version of the application. A "Wanted" coin mark, designed to make coin swapping even easier, is also planned for the next release.

Better data compression

Storage space on PDAs is very precious for every user, and I kept that well in mind while developing Ecpc.
There's already a lot of compressed data in the pack file EcpcGfxRes.dat, however I think that by implementing a better compression algorithm I can shrink its size even more, without affecting the program performance too much.
The file system of the Pocket PC already uses some kind of compression, but from my tests it turned out to be a very light compression, so my improvement still has a good reason to be.

New coin variants info

Although the data about coin variants comes through an accurate research, the Latin saying "errare humanum est" (making mistakes is a human thing), still holds a lot o truth!
So if you spotted any error or you have any interesting new info about coin variants, feel free to contact me and I'll add it to the next release of Ecpc.
At the moment I'm particularly interested in detailed information about the 10 cents Italian coin with the missing Mint mark R and the two variants of the Austrian 2 Euro coin.
Please remember, as explained in the online documentation, that Ecpc only considers coin variants, not errors.
