| How
can I buy your software? |
|
Although you can find my software
on most of the major online international software resellers
I do recommend you using my Handango Powered Shopping Cart,
why? Because it provides me the easiest and fastest customer
management and a high royalty rate.
However feel free to contact
me to purchase my software using a payment method not currently
supported by Handango, for example by PayPal
or the Italian PostePay
prepaid card.
|
| What
about your price policy? |
|
Although it may vary during
promotional periods or special offers, I think the regular
price of Ecpc reflects its quality in the best possible
way, thanks to well researched data and a good technical realization
making it up for an appraised educational solution.
I like to think that a new customer should be a new friend
for me, this is not a stock phrase, and the great passion
and the genuine dedication I've put so far in this work demonstrates
it.
Consider also that all future Ecpc updates,
for the same platform, will be available without additional
costs.
|
| Will
the updates be available free of charge? |
|
All the current and incoming
EcPc updates,
for the same platform, will be available free of charge
to anyone who already regularly purchased a copy of the program.

To get the updated versions you just need to use the redownload
feature of the e-shop where you purchased Ecpc.
Please note that some of them may have a limited time for
the redownload feature to work or provide it as an additional
paid service.
|
| How
can I get the new version? |
|
Customers who purchased EcPc
before version 1.4 can download the new version from
my website, but they'll need a valid registration code
to unlock it. They can get it in three ways:
- Contact
me reporting all the details of your previous order as well
as the Owner Name you set on your device so that
I can generate a registration code for you. Totally free,
but relatively slow.
- If you purchased EcPc
from Handango you have to option to get the lastest upgrade
copy at the reduced price of 5.99$ just by clicking
on the "Looking to Upgrade" button in the
product
detail page on Handango. The registration code will
be automatically generated immediately after the purchase.
A good compromise, but valid only for Handango customers.
- Purchase a new copy at the
regular price, preferably from my Handango Powered Shopping
Cart. This isn't the cheapest choice of course, but
it's the fastest and in this way you'll show your genuine
support for my software.
|
| I
did already purchase the QVGA version, can I get the VGA one
for my new Pocket PC? |
|
Yes, I'd like to offer you this
opportunity free of charge, but you'll have to make the effort
of contacting me reporting
all the details of your order of the QVGA version as well
as the Owner Name you set on your VGA device so that
I can generate a new registration code for you, since the
two versions need different codes.
|
| What
does an affiliate link mean? |
|
It generally indicates that
I have a partnership with the online shop pointed by the link,
so that if you make a purchase there I get a (very) small
percentage of the total paid price.
Please note that this is totally transparent to you
since there's no additional fee for you over the regular price
of the product.
|
| How
did you build Ecpc with? |
|
I built the first Pocket PC
versions of Ecpc with Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++
3.0 and the Pocket PC 2002 Software Development Kit, although
now I'm regularly using eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0 and the Windows
Mobile 2003 SDK.
|
| I'm
an Euro coin collector, but I don't know anything about Pocket
PCs, where do I start form? |
|
Start by reading the My
Pocket PC page to find out how many uses a mobile
device can have, some of which pretty bizarre actually, then
go to the Links page and start
making regular visits to the best webzines about hardware
and software for the Windows Mobile platform from all
around the world. With a bit of time and patience you'll find
your hobby enriched by the new technologies!
|
| I'm
a Pocket PC user, but I don't know anything coin collecting,
where do I start form? |
|
Start from using Ecpc,
where else?
There's a lot of detail to discover about the Euro coins hidden
in it, but once you'll find the need to dig deeper into more
specific matters related to Euro coin collecting, go to the
Resources page and
start exploring from there.
|
| How
do I change the Owner name to use the colored characters feature? |
|
You don't need any special editor
to do that!
Just tap on the Owner name on the Today screen
to access the window where you can change your personal information.
This window can be accessed also from Start->Settings->User
Information.
Write the name using the special characters ( "/1",
"/2", and so on ) described in the online documentation
of Ecpc, tap on OK and then return to Ecpc to
create new collections using that name.
You can later restore the Owner name by deleting the special
characters using the same procedure.
|
| I'm
having a hard time in distinguishing the edge type of the 10,
20 and 50 cents, what can I do? |
|
It has not been too easy even
for me since differences among edge finishing types of the
10, 20 and 50 cents Euro coins are often not so evident at
a first look. It surely helps having a bunch of coins to compare
the edges with and regrouping them accordingly.
Since version 1.3 Ecpc includes a detailed picture
of the 10, 20 and 50 cents edge types for you to use as a
reference.
However you can always ignore this detail by setting the appropriate
parameter in the Options Menu.
|
| I'd
like to see some detailed picture of the coin variants, where
do I find them? |
|
The variant details are so light
that I decided not to include pictures of them in Ecpc
at the moment. Instead you can go to the Resources
page to find great sites with lots of details and pictures
of Euro coin variants and even coinage errors.
|
| What
about the coins in Mint Sets only? Is the data always correct? |
|
Since, to my knowledge, it doesn't
exist a place to get official data about the coins
available only in Mint Sets for all the Euro area countries,
I had to research and compare information about that from
a number of sources around the web.
The data about the year of issue 2004 in particular is only
partially confirmed, but I'll update it as soon as I get new
or correct data.
|
| I've
some coins to swap with other Ecpc user, where can I go? |
|
I've opened the swapping
page just for this purpose!
|
| Are
you going to add the new coins as other countries join the EMU
during the next years? |
|
Of course, since I'm the first
to be interested in the new coins so that I can add them to
my personal collection, although it will take some time to
research all the details about the Euro coins of the new countries.
I like to think I've created a sort of evergreen software,
at least until coins will be in circulation, will you think
so?
